Artist Statment
I am a contemporary artist working primarily in oil, ink, and gold leaf, blending traditional materials with symbolic figuration to explore themes of memory, identity, and emotional containment. Originally from Syria and currently based in London, my work is shaped by experiences of displacement, cultural transformation, and the tension between inner vulnerability and outer expression.
Much of my visual language is drawn from both scientific observation and personal narrative. Having trained in biotechnology and regenerative medicine. Recurring motifs in my practice include fragmented bodies, sacred geometry, and botanical forms; each representing cycles of transformation, healing, and the passage of time. Gold leaf features prominently in my work, not only for its reverence but for its duality: it shimmers with value while cracking under pressure.
My pieces invite viewers to contemplate containment and resilience—the ways in which identity is built, broken, and reimagined. Whether portraying a figure submerged in memory or bound in delicate linework, I seek to capture the silent strength in fragility, and the quiet truth beneath surface perfection.
Education
2022 - 2023
King's College London
MSc Stem Cells & Regenerative Therapies: From Bench to Market
This interdisciplinary Master's focused on the clinical translation of advanced cell therapies. I gained in-depth understanding of stem cell biology, tissue engineering, and regenerative medicine, alongside exposure to regulatory affairs and commercialization strategies. Key projects included evaluating real-world case studies in ATMP development and a capstone on regulatory challenges in advanced therapies.
2019 - 2022
University of Nottingham
BSc (Hons) Biotechnology
A lab-intensive program exploring molecular biology, genetic engineering, and bioinformatics. My final-year dissertation focused on plant genetics and climate resilience, where I generated and phenotyped mutants under environmental stress.
